------ Kiefer, Pfc. Donald (Military Notes – 06 DEC 1966)
Pfc. Donald Kiefer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Kiefer, former area residents who
are now living in Ft. Atkinson, was wounded in the shoulder in Vietnam when his
unit was caught in an ambush by the Viet Cong on November 21.
Pfc. Kiefer was brought back to the United States, and is now hospitalized at
Great Lakes naval hospital where he was awarded the Purple Heart on December 6.
His address is: Pfc. Donald Kiefer, Naval Hospital No. 13, Ward 3 East, Great
Lakes, Ill.
