A mass of requiem was sung at St. Bernard’s Catholic church, Abbotsford, Tuesday
morning for George F. Henning of Abbotsford who died at his home Saturday,
December 24, at 2:50 p.m. after a prolonged illness.
A rosary service was held Monday evening at 8 o’clock at the Polnaszek Funeral
Home at Abbotsford where the body lay in state.
The Rev. Emil Hodnik officiated at the funeral services after which burial was
made in the Abbotsford cemetery. The pallbearers were Norbert, Rudy and Dennis
Younker, Gilbert Fritsche and Reynald and James Nuernberger.
George Frank Henning was born September 3, 1898, at Columbus and was educated in
Columbus schools. His marriage to Miss Vera Younker took place at Milwaukee Oct.
5, 1935.
For 28 years, Mr. Henning was employed in public relations for International
Harvester Co. in Chicago, Milwaukee and Fort Wayne, Ind.
Nine years ago they came to Abbotsford to make their home. Mr. Henning was
active in the Abbotsford Sportsmen’s Club.
He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic congregation.
Surviving him are his wife and one sister, Mrs. Morris (Evelyn) Fonda of Leewood,
Kansas.
His parents and one sister preceded him in death.
