Funeral services for Mrs. Berta Weideman of Abbotsford, who died November 24,
were held Saturday afternoon, followed by interment in the town of Holton
cemetery.
The body lay in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home until noon when it was taken
to Christ Lutheran church where services were held at 2 o’clock with the Rev. F.
H. Sprengler officiating. Miss Bonnie Melvin was organist and also sang with
Mrs. Dale Ridderbusch. Their selections were “Rock of Ages” and “Abide With Me”.
The pallbearers were Ed Lueth, Fred Meske, Carl Gosse, Joe Sulik, Lawrence
Wehrmann, Abbotsford, and George Porupcan, Milwaukee.
The former Bertha Wolters was born September 28, 1878, in the town of Holton and
lived in the area all of her life. Her marriage to August Weideman took place
November 17, 1895, in the town of Holton. The couple farmed in that township
until 1943 when they retired and moved to Abbotsford.
Mr. Weideman preceded his wife in death exactly twenty years ago, November 24,
1946.
Mrs. Weideman was in poor health for some time and was a patient at St. Joseph’s
hospital, Marshfield, since November 19. Her death occurred there on
Thanksgiving Day at 5:30 a.m.
Mrs. Weideman was a member of Christ Lutheran church.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Nora Lindberg, Abbotsford, Mrs. Harold
(Anna) Patzwold, Eau Claire, and Miss Freda Weideman, Milwaukee; two sons; Henry
and Edwin Weideman, Abbotsford; seven grand children, and 10 great grand
children.
Besides her husband she was preceded by a nine year old daughter, Lizzie, and a
sister.
Relatives and friends who came for the funeral were from Clintonville, New
London, Fall Creak, Wausau, Dorchester, Colby, Abbotsford, Eau Claire, Milwaukee
and Marshfield.
