Funeral services for Clyde Layton Jewett, 73, Owen, will be held Friday, January 13, at 2 p.m. at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby. The Rev. R. James Hagen will officiate and burial will be in the Brighton cemetery. The body will lie in state beginning Thursday noon at the funeral home.

Mr. Jewett, a native of Unity and long-time resident of the Unity-Colby area, died at 8 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, at Stanley Victory Memorial hospital.

Clyde Jewett was born January 11, 1893, at Unity, where he attended local schools. His marriage to Lulu Thompson took place May 20, 1920, at Westboro. He spent most of his life in the Colby and Unity area, working at various times in Alaska, and Arizona, and other western states. He was a member of the American legion, Post 57, Madison.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Alice) Jost, Ojai, Calif., Mrs. William (Hazel) Langston, New York, N. Y., and Mrs. Allen (June) Niemi, Withee; two sons, Harold, Waukesha, and Elmer, Santa Paula; one brother, Clarence, Calumet, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Miller, St. Paul, Mr. Ed Finkle, Kansas City, and Mrs. Jesse Husse, Washington; 12 grand children, and three great grand children. Three brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
