Funeral services for Edward Yessa, 71, route 1, Curtiss, will be held this
afternoon, January 5, at 2:30 p.m. in the Sauter Funeral Home, Stratford. The
Rev. John Albrecht will officiate and burial will be in the Stratford cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the time of the service.
Pallbearers are Leopold Hartl, William Martyn, Irvin Yessa, Edward Mielke,
Walter Brown and Bror Erickson.
Mr. Yessa died of a heart attack while doing chores at his farm in the town of
Green Grove, about 5 p.m. Monday, January 2. His son, Orville, found his body in
the barn about 11 p.m.
Edward Yessa was born in Poland on February 2, 1895. He came to this country in
1914 with his parents, settling in the Stratford area. He farmed in the towns of
Johnson and Frankfort until moving to the farm in the town of Green Grove.
Survivors include his wife, the former Elsie Dallman; a son, Orville, route 1,
Curtiss; a brother Emanuel, Wausau, and four sisters, Mrs. Aurelia Rosenau and
Mrs. Amelia Rosenau, both of Wausau, Mrs. Anton Hartl, Edgar, and Mrs. Nataly
Braun, Oconto. He was preceded in death by one son, in infancy, and two
brothers, Louis and Adolph.
