Ciokiewicz, Mary (4 MAR 1886 – 9 MAY 1967)
Last rites for Mrs. Mary Ciokiewicz, 81, were held Friday morning at 11:00 from
St. Mary's Catholic Church (Stanley). The Rev. Georges P. Mathieu officiating.
Burial was in St. Hedwig's Cemetery, Thorp.
Mrs. Ciokiewicz, who died Tuesday, May 9, 1967 at the Havenet Nursing Home,
Owen, was born March 4, 1886 in Poland and was the daughter of Stephen and
Anastasia Oniszuk.
She was married in Poland in 1900 to Joseph Ciokiewicz, and after their marriage
they came to the United States, settling in the Thorp area, where they farmed
until 1945, when they moved to Stanley. Her husband died July 22, 1962. She had
been a resident at the nursing home since last August.
Shew as a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Rosary Society.
Survivors include six sons, Tony of Owen, John of Green Bay, Nick, Orangevale,
Calif., Joe, Thorp, Frank of Stanley and George of Chicago; two daughters,
(Stella) Mrs. Frank Dziedzic and (Helen) Mrs. Thomas Czerndejewski, both of
Chicago, and by 35 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
