Construction of a new church and center of Holy Family Parish, voted in October 1965, is scheduled to get underway immediately. Ground for the structure was broken, Sunday, April 30, 1967.

Parishioners decided to build and establish a building fund in 1960, but it was not until 1965 that they chose 1967 at the year of construction.

Planning, with the assistance ot Bishop Frederick W. Freking of La Crosse and the pastor of Holy Family parish, the Rev. William V. Nikolai, has been underway for the past three years.

Members of the building committee are Frank L. Govek and Val Krainz Sr., trustees, and William Bayuk, Julius Klapatauskas Sr., Henry Lamovec Sr., John Lesar, John F. Trunkel Sr., and Frank Volovsek Jr.

The firm of carl Billmeyer and son, Wis. Rapids, was employed as architect in 1965. Bids were let last February and opened at a meeting on March 16. Contracts were signed on April 20.

The contractors and the cost figures are: Ellis Stone Construction Co. Stevens Point, general construction, $108, 506; Hurlbert Heating Co., Inc., Durand, plumbing, heating and ventilation, $15.223; Peroshek Electric, Greenwood, electrical work, $8,650, for a total of $132,379.
