Lasiuk, Stanley (5 MAY 1894 – 17 MAY 1967)
Stanley Lasiuk, 73, route 3, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), died at Veterans Hospital
in Minneapolis on Wednesday morning, May 17, 1967, after a lingering illness.
Mr. Lasiuk was born May 5, 1894 in Poland. Coming to this country at an early
age, he arrived in this community at the age of 19, and since has been a
lifelong resident. He marriage Josephine Bieniasz on July 24, 1921, and they
farmed in the Reseburg area until his retirement. Of this union, three children
were born who survive him, (Helen) Mrs. Fred Opoka of Chicago, Richard and
(Genevieve) Mrs. James Petranovich, both of Thorp. His first wife preceded him
in death on Nov. 3, 1956.
On Nov. 5, 1960 he married Magdalen Abramczuk, who survives him. He is also
survived by 13 grandchildren and 18 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday morning, May 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Hedwig's
Chapel, with Father Edward Masalewicz officiating. Burial was in St. Hedwig's
New Cemetery. He was buried with military rites, having served his country in
the First World War.
