Lamberton, Mr./Mrs. Bion (65th – 24 MAY 1967)
The former Clara Young and Bion Lamberton were married 65 years ago on May 24,
1902, at Perkinstown, Wis. They lived at Phillips, Wis. For 4 years after their
marriage, where he was employed in a saw mill. They then moved to Plainfield,
Wis., where they resided until 1939, when they came to Hannibal, Wis. In 1940
they moved to Gilman, Wis., where they have since made their home.
Mrs. Lamberton was born in Plainfield, Wis., Waushara County, on April 6, 1883,
and her husband was born on Oct. 30, 1881 near Perkinstown, Wis., Taylor County.
The couple were the parents of two children, a son Clifford, now deceased, and a
daughter, Mrs. Alice Leavitt of Plainfield. They have three grandchildren,
Billy, Ruth and Edward Leavitt, also of Plainfield.
An open house honoring the couple was held from two until four on Sunday, May
27, 1967 in Gilman, and given by the pastor, Rev. George Kind and the ladies
aid, of which Mrs. Lamberton is a member. A beautiful wedding cake for the
occasion was baked and decorated by Mrs. John Gehn. Mrs. Lamberton pinned a
white corsage to her green and brown print dress, and Mrs. Lamberton wore a
white carnation boutonniere.
The couple are members of the Gilman Presbyterian Church.
