The First Christian Church, St. Paul, Minn. was the scene of the marriage of
Miss Sandra A. Elkins and Peter W. Cordes on Saturday, May 28th, 1967. Rev.
Hautzemader performed the 2:30 formal ceremony and Eugene Sell, brother-in-law
of the groom, sang "Our Wedding Prayer" and "The Lord's Prayer."
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Elkins, Thorp (Clark Co.,
Wis.), and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Cordes, St. Paul, Minn.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was seen in a gown of heavy satin,
styled with traditional long sleeves and embroidered roses in front of the full
length gown. She carried a bouquet of white roses.
Miss LaVonne Boardman, a friend of the bride, was maid of honor, and Miss Mary
Jo Christianson, also a friend of the bride, was bridesmaid. They wore pink full
length dresses and carried pink sweetheart roses with lemon leaves.
Judy Sell, niece of the groom, was flower girl, and Kenneth Boardman, friend of
the bride, was ring bearer.
Bobby Cordes was his brother's best man, and groomsman was Terry Strom. Ushers
were: Bob Elkins and Mike Elkins, brother of the bride,, and Carl Cordes and
David Cordes.
A reception for 150 guests was given by the bride's parents at the Summit Manor,
St. Paul, Minn.
The bride, a 1964 graduate of Thorp High School, is a chiropractic assistant
with Grand Ave. Chiropractic Clinic, St. Paul. The groom attended the University
of Minn. and is an IBM Customer Engineer.
After a wedding trip to Chicago, the new couple is making their home at 153 E.
Emerson, St. Paul, Minn.
