Sandra Hubbard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hubbard, placed second in the Holstein division of the Wisconsin Junior Dairymen's Association dairy show held in Chippewa Falls last week.

The junior Dairymen's Association is organized for all vocational agriculture students carrying on dairy herd testing programs in Wisconsin.

As the result of placing second Sandra received a beautiful engraved trophy and a $75.00 check, which must be used toward the purchase of a Registered Holstein heifer calf.

The dairy show is comprise of five divisions and the winner is determined on a total point score. First, a written exam on dairy cattle feeding and management is taken, next an oral quiz by judges on the knowledge of dairy herd records is completed. The exhibitor's entry is then given an official classification score for type and also scored for showmanship and fitting. The final phase of scoring is done by a panel of judges who evaluate a two minute oral speech on why the exhibitor feels her entry is an "ideal brood cow."

Sandra is to be commended on her placing in this and previous dairy shows. Advisor to the Thorp WJDA is Mr. Albert Schultz.
