Sleznikow, Larry (12 August 1931 - 8 August 2014)
Larry Sleznikow, 82, of Neillsville died Aug. 8, 2014, in the Clark County
Health Care Center, Owen one year after being diagnosed with cancer.
He was born in Flemington, NJ, Aug. 12, 1931, the son of the late Konstantin and
Pauline Sleznikow. Larry worked as a pilot and airplane mechanic before being
employed by Ronson Consumer Products Corporation in Somerset, NJ. He was later
hired as a mechanical engineer by Lockheed Electronics Company in North
Plainfield, NJ. He left New Jersey in 1979 and moved to Greenwood with his wife
Esther to dairy farm. They retired from farming in 2009 and moved to a hobby
farm near Neillsville.
A lifelong tinkerer and builder, Larry had numerous hobbies including rebuilding
antique tractors and gasoline engines, building and flying both full-size and
model airplanes, repairing antique radios, woodworking and metal-working.
He is survived by his spouse, Esther; two sons, Larry Sleznikow and his wife
Carolyn of La Crosse, and Dale Sleznikow and his wife Rhonda of Withee; five
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at 11 a.m.
at St. Paul’s Church ELCA, 1131 Meridian Street Curtiss. A luncheon will follow
the service.
