Smith, DeAnn (Marriage - 1973)

A Loyal couple, Miss DeAnn Smith and Daniel McNeely, were married there Friday evening April 6, in a candlelight service performed by the Rev. William Humlie of Trinity Lutheran Church. The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Smith. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray McNeely. All are of Loyal.

For her marriage the former Miss Smith chose a medallion lace and pearl beading trimmed gown of white dotted Swiss over a pale blue moiré under lining. Her veil of pale blue illusion was attached to a matching headpiece. White roses, blue cornflowers and baby’s breath formed her bouquet.

Miss Aileen Zarnstorff of Owen was the maid of honor and Miss Juleen Smith of Loyal was the junior bridesmaid. Their gowns of pink and mint green dotted Swiss were complimented with matching ribbon. Each carried a single, long-stemmed white rose.

Randy Pachal of Loyal served as bestman. Junior groomsman was Mark McNeely, also of Loyal. Dean Smith and Jeff McNeely acted as ushers.

The Wedding March was played by Kathy McNeely. Sharon Schoonover, Diane Anderegg and Judy Zettler sang to Jody Schoonover’s accompaniment.

A family dinner at Bali Hai supper club followed the ceremony. The Spencer municipal hall was the scene Saturday night of a dance and reception honoring the couple.

The newlyweds will make their home at Loyal where the groom is engaged in farming. The bride was formerly employed in Marshfield.
