Decker, Gail (Marriage - 14 April 1973)
Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, was the scene Saturday, April 14, of the marriage
of Miss Gail Decker, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Decker, Unity, and
Charles Edward Flick, Jr., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles j. Flick, Rt. 2
Colby. The Rev. David T. Pankow officiated at the 7 p.m. ceremony which was
followed by a reception at the Unity Memorial Hall.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full-tiered gown of Chantilly
lace styled with a chapel train and butterfly bustle and framed by a full,
waist-length illusion veil. Her bouquet of red and white roses was accented with
baby’s breath.
Sherly Decker, Unity, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids
were another sister, Linda Decker of Unity, and a cousin, Adele Neitzel, of
Curtiss. Their empire gowns of mint green chiffon were fashioned with mandarin
collars and lace-ruffled bodices. Each carried a large basket of white daisy
pompons and mint-tipped white carnations.
The groom’s brother, Wayne Flick of Horicon, served as bestman. Groomsmen were
Herbert Sterzinger of Colby and Raymond Hainzlsperger of Unity, brother-in-law
of the groom. Guests were seated by Dennis Decker of Unity, brother of the
bride, and Sylvester Sterzinger of Colby.
The bride, a 1971 graduate of Colby High School, is employed in Abbotsford. Her
husband graduated from the same school in 1966 and is engaged in farming. The
newlyweds will live in Colby.
