Holmes, Gertrude (2 October 1882 - 29 April 1973)
A native of the Town of Lynn, Miss Gertrude R. Holmes, 90, of Granton, died
Sunday afternoon, April 29, in Neillsville. Funeral services were conducted
Wednesday afternoon from the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, with the Rev.
Elmer Rasmussen officiating. Interment was in the Lynn Cemetery.
Miss Holmes was born October 2, 1882, in the Town of Lynn, began her education
in schools there, and later attended Neillsville High School and the Stevens
Point Normal School. She taught in the Town of Lynn, in Granton, and also at the
South Carolina Mission School. Miss Holmes, who was a member of the Seventh Day
Adventist Church, is survived by an uncle and several cousins.
Pallbearers were Richard Qualley, John Hammond, Robert Spry and Max Opelt.
