Wetzel, Rodney "Rod" E. (25 OCT 1940 - 18 SEP 2014)
Rodney "Rod" E. Wetzel, 73, Schofield, died Thursday, September 18, 2014 at his
home.
He was born October 25, 1940 in Stetsonville, Wis., son of the late Walter E.
and Lyda Mae (Woodbeck) Wetzel.
On October 5, 1963, he married Margaret A. Stasney in Wausau. She preceded him
in death on March 22, 2014.
Rodney was a veteran of the United States Navy. For many years, he worked as a
machinist for the former Federal-Mogul Corp. in Schofield until his retirement.
Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and being
outdoors.
He also belonged to many area bowling leagues and was an avid archer and was a
member of several archery leagues.
Survivors include three children, Cammie (Jason) Kickbusch, Wausau, Todd
(Janice) Wetzel, Wausau and Sherri (Dale) Bickford, Schofield; one grandson,
Steven Salzman, Wausau; one brother, Frank (Marte) Wetzel, Cottage Grove; one
sister, Donna Cleveland, Wausau; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and
friends.
Besides his parents and wife, Margaret, he was preceded in death by one brother,
David.
Memorial services will be at Noon on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Joy
Nelson-Jeffers will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau
with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post
No. 10, Wausau.
Friends may call on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the
