Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (Spring Rally - 25 April1973)
The spring rally of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Zone 11, was held
April 25 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Auburndale. St. Luke’s LWML, Sherry,
served as group host. The business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Roland Roehrs
of Granton, Zone 11 president. Mrs. Roehrs will attend the League’s
international convention in Mobile, Al., June 26-28, as the zone delegate.
The guest speaker, the Rev. George L. Goepfert, public relations director for
Lutheran Children’s Friend Society, Wauwatosa, spoke to the group on his work
with emotionally disturbed boys. His talk was entitled “The Role of the
Christian parent in Today’s Society.”
Among the 98 persons attending the rally were Mrs. Roehrs, Mrs. Otto Sternitzky,
Mrs. Ray Sternitzky and Mrs. Walter Trimberger of Zion Lutheran Church, Granton,
and Mrs. Elmer Steffen, Mrs. Melvin Bandt, Mrs. Tina Cole, Mrs. Fred Lewin, Mrs.
Lyle Doehr, Mrs. Marvin Menger, Mrs. Norman Faber, Mrs. Henry Grottke, Jr. and
Mrs. Harold Montag of Christ Lutheran Church, Chili.
