Calvary Lutheran Church (Meeting - 1973)
A special congregational meeting was held last Wednesday evening at Calvary
Lutheran Church in regard to calling a new pastor to succeed the Rev. Daniel
Litzer, who recently accepted a call to a Stevens Point Church.
The meeting was conducted by Arlo Clausen, president of the congregation, who
introduced the Rev. Robert herder, executive assistant to the bishop of the
Northern Wisconsin district of the American Lutheran Church. Rev. Herder
presents a list of five men recommended by the district office as being
particularly qualified to fill the pastorate. The listing included four
experienced clergymen and one seminarian.
Following discussion, preferences were indicated by secret ballot. At the close
of the meeting a letter of call was sent to one of those recommended.
