Henaman, Dorothy J. (9 AUG 1932 – 17 OCT 2013)
Dorothy J. Henaman, 82, Austin, Minn., formerly of Greenwood, passed away on
Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, in Austin. A memorial service will be held at 8:30 a.m.,
on Sunday, Oct. 26, along with the Sunday service, at Immanuel United Church of
Christ, Greenwood.
Dorothy Jean Mork was born on Aug. 9, 1932, to John and Etta Mork. She attended
school in Austin, Minn., and Panama City, Fla. She attended Winona teachers
college and graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 1967. She taught in the Greenwood
school system for 30 years. After her retirement, she sold the farm near
Greenwood and moved to Austin, where she was a substitute teacher for a short
time. She baked cookies for the students while teaching in Austin. She was a
member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in rural Greenwood for many years,
and also belonged to the Jolly Homemakers. Her interests included riding horses,
traveling, sewing, knitting, painting, baking and her dogs. She made several
dolls over the years, and won awards for her Father Christmas doll. She was
known for her No Bake cookies and Mounds Bars. She taught her children to work
hard and education was important.
Survivors include six daughters, Rachel (David) Rogstad, Jane (Dennis)
Zielinski, Betty Hoff, Esther (Richard) Lobacz, Joyce (Ronald) Johnson, and
Janet (Steve) Haldeman; two sons, Jim (Jeannie) Henaman and Jon (Carla) Henaman;
grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Travis Laib, Tanya Olson, Rhonda Rogstad,
David Henaman, Steven Henaman, Dennis Zielinski Jr., Josh Zielinski, Zeb
Zielinski, Larry Hoff, Kristine Forseth, Heather Henning, Simone Lobacz, Thomas
Lobacz, Jody Ann Henaman, Jordan Johnson, Jada Johnson, JP Johnson, Robert
McClemore, Billie Jean Lantz, Miriam McClemore, Julie Van Ark, Jim Henaman Jr.,
Amy, Michael, Jennifer, Melanie, Melisse, Jessica, Nena, Jamie and Jeremy; 50
great-grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Syl, and Faith "Tudy"
Horn; and one brother, Ronald Mork.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Henaman; her parents; a sister,
Deloris Kirkwood; a brother, John "Jack" Mork; and a grandson, Jonathan Johnson.
