Prock, Linus John (7 November 1880 - 14 May 1973)

Linus John Prock, of Neillsville, operator of the Globe Store for many years, died May 14, at the age of 92. Funeral services are to be held this (Thursday) morning at 10:30 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles D. Brady officiating. Burial is to be made in the parish cemetery. A Rosary service was held Wednesday evening at the Georgas Funeral Home, where the body of Mr. Prock was in state.

Linus Prock, the son of Michal and Mary (Schwellenbach) Prock, was born November 7, 1880, in the Town of Weston and was educated in schools there and at the business college in Stevens Point. His marriage to the former Agnes Quast took place June 17, 1911, at Greenwood. After operating the Globe Store for many years, the Procks retired and moved to Neillsville in 1955. Mr. Prock enjoyed hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities throughout his lifetime. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and the Catholic Knights, and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three children: Mrs. James (Lucille) McConnell of Greenwood, Harold Prock of Neillsville and Mrs. Jack (Delores) McKenzie of Bettendorf, Ia.; and 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Linus John Prock, 92, of Neillsville, who died May 14, were held Thursday, May 17, from St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles D. Brady, Msgr. Michael Prock of Eau Claire and the Rev. Peter Leketas of Marshfield officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery. The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were: Herman Hagedorn, George Thoma, Ben and Ernie Schwellenbach, Leo Wasserburger and Gene Ross.
