Bobish, George (15 MAR 1878 – 18 AUG 1967)
The death of an 89-year-old Stanley man has been ruled a suicide by hanging.
The body of George Bobish was found Friday night in the silo on the Paul
Hodowanic far, rt.1, Gilman.
Dr. Paul Murphy, Bloomer, deputy Chippewa Co. Coroner, said Mr. Bobish had been
residing in a nursing home in Stanley recently and was released for a visit tot
the Hodowanic farm. When it was time to return to the nursing home, he
apparently developed a despondency, the physician noted.
Mr. Bobish worked many years on the Hodowanic farm.
He was born in Austria and would have noted his 90th birthday next March 15. He
came to the United States at the age of 21, then worked in Pennsylvania before
moving to the Stanley area.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Servcies were held Monday at 10 a.m. in St. John's Orthodox Church in Huron, the
Rev. Emile Glocar officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
