Mroz, Margaret T. (25 May 1931 - 16 October 2014)
Margaret T. Mroz, age 83, of Owen passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014,
surrounded by her family, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.
A mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 21, 2014, at
Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. Rev. Janusz Kowalski officiated. Burial
followed in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery in Thorp. Friends called on Tuesday at the
church in Owen from 11:30 a.m. until time of services. Acting as pallbearers
were Michael Mroz, Clint Oelhofen, Mitch and Mike Strzok, Terry Halida and Scott
Strzok.
Margaret was born May 25, 1931, in Thorp to Michael and Ann (Wnek) Strzok. She
graduated from Thorp High School. On May 11, 1953, Margaret was married to
Chester Mroz at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. They celebrated 58 years
of marriage. Sadly, Chester passed away May 17, 2011. Margaret was a homemaker
and enjoyed caring for her two boys.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen, and a member of the
Parish council of Catholic Women. Her hobbies included polka dancing, gardening,
crocheting and knitting, cooking, and canning. Margaret also enjoyed traveling,
some gambling, and spending time with her family, loving husband, mother and
grandmother.
Survivors include her two children; Daniel (Claire) Mroz of Hewitt and Dale
(Beth) Mroz of Spencer; a sister, Alice (Clarence) Mroz of Spencer; two
grandchildren: Michael (Christina) Mr 0z of Kellogg, MN and Clinton (Amber)
Oelhofen of Marathon; and six great-grandchildren: Hanna, Kaleb, Ellianna, and
Elsa Mroz, and Alexander and Macie Oelhofen.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester; a sister,
Lorraine Wehlacz; and two brothers: Harvey Strzok and Chester Strzok.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the care and compassion
shown to their mother by the staff at House of the Dove - Marshfield.
