Neitzel, Robert C. (24 MAR 1940 - 17 OCT 2014)

Robert C. Neitzel, age 74, of Spencer, passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, with his family by his side, at the House of The Dove in Marshfield.

Robert was born on March 24, 1940, the son of Charles R. and Ruth L. (Gilbertson) Neitzel. He was united in marriage to Jean Schmitbauer. The couple later divorced. Robert worked many different jobs, including a mechanic and a blacktopper on a road construction crew. He was known as a “Jack-Of-All-Trades.”

He cherished time spent with friends, family, and especially his grandchildren. Robert was an avid outdoorsman who took pleasure in hunting, fishing and feeding the birds. He also enjoyed playing cards, going for drives, gunsmithing, tinkering with small engines, and working on his homemade airboat. Those that knew him best will always remember his love for cutting firewood and his eagerness to make a fire for everyone to enjoy.

Robert is lovingly survived by his children, Roberta (Gene) Krueger, Charles R. (Jenny) Neitzel, Raye Kaser, Jodie Neitzel, Dulcie (Don) Lilly, Heath (Carrie) Neitzel and Jesse Bobe; his grandchildren, Shannon, Sarah, Cyle, Charles, Shawn, Austin, Cale, Trevor, Hunter, Nevada, Shaelee and Carsee; as well as a great-grandchild, Bentley. Robert is further survived by his siblings, Beverly Utke, Rod (Nell) Neitzel and Sandee (Boyd) Plummer. Robert will truly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles R. and Ruth L; children, Pamela and Tracy; as well as brothers, Ronald and Mike.

A time of sharing will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 201 South LaSalle St., Spencer. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
