Molle, Eleanor M. (26 MAY 1916 – 23 OCT 2014)
Eleanor M. Molle, 98, formerly of Spencer, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 23,
2014, at the Colonial Center in Colby, where she had resided since 2001. Funeral
services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church,
Missouri Synod, Spencer. Rev. David DePaoli officiated. Burial took place at St
Luke’s Cemetery in the town of Beaver, Clark County. Pallbearers were Jeffrey
Schuette, Daryl Schuette, Mark Schuette, Tim Olson, Scott Molle and Trevor
Olson.
Eleanor Mary Klessig was born on May 26, 1916, in Owen, the daughter of Edward
and Katherine (nee Brecker) Klessig. She received eight years of education at
the Elmwood School in Clark County. On Sept. 15, 1937, she married Arnold Molle
in Withee. The couple farmed in Green Grove and later owned a farm in the town
of Beaver in Clark County. In 1962 they moved to Spencer. Eleanor worked for 22
years at the Land O’Lakes Cheese Plant. She was a member of the Spencer Lutheran
Church. She enjoyed taking care of her home and helping out her fam-ily. For
many years she enjoyed weekly sheepshead card games with her dear friends
Caroline Schillinger, Birdi Schauer, Adella Gautcher, Alma Kobs, Irene
Fredrickson and Marian Kibbel.
She is lovingly survived by her children, LaVonne (Delbert) Schuette, Unity,
Roger (Gundi) Molle, Sussex, and Shirley (Donald) Olson, Loyal; a
brother-in-law, Alfred (Ruth) Molle, Withee; a sister-in-law, Betty (Norman)
Klessig, Arizona; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and
great-great-grandchildren. She will truly be missed.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Katherine; her husband,
Arnold, on June 3, 1970; one daughter, Sharon, on May 31, 1958; her siblings,
Alma (Walter) Hintz, Ceilia (Art) Johnson, Anne (Leo) Mandel, Irene (Edward)
Myer, Leo (Katherine) Klessig and Norman (Betty) Klessig; and a grandson, Todd
Olson, killed in Iraq on Dec. 26, 2004.
The family would like to express its heartfelt thanks to Colby Colonial Center
for the excellent care Mom received for the past years.

name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation and Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer.
