Schober, Patricia A. (22 JUN 1931 – 6 SEP 2014)
Patricia Ann (Garrow) Schober, our loving mother, passed from us on Sept. 6,
2014, at the age of 83, after a long bout with Alzheimer’s. A memorial service
will take place at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at the burial site in the
Union Cemetery, 130 Lynn St. Tigerton, where her mother, step-father, and
husband are also buried. A celebration of her life for family and friends will
also take place at 4 p.m. that afternoon at the American Legion in Loyal.
Patricia was born on June 22, 1931, in Neenah, the only child of Ada E. Garrow
Swanke and Rufus Eugene Garrow. Pat spent all of her life in Wisconsin, growing
up in the Fox River Valley. She raised her children primarily in Loyal and
Marshfield. In her last years she enjoyed visits, family reunions, and listening
to music during her exceptional care at Care Partners in Winneconne. Our mother
will be fondly remembered for her love and devotion to her children, as a
skilled bridge player and interior decorator, playfully singing, dancing, and
crooning as she played the organ, and taking up a cause. She was instrumental in
spearheading the development of the West Side Community Park in Loyal.
Pat is survived by two half-brothers and a half-sister; seven children, John and
Bonita (Schober) Powers, Bainbridge Island, Wash., Scott and Candice (Shober)
Schober, Plano, Texas; Todd and Barbara (Trudeau) Schober, Stevens Point, Jill
(Schober) Forbish and David Carufel, Mahtomedi, Minn., Jay and Jennifer (Gregg)
Schober, Marshfield, Patrick Schober, Neenah, and Mike Schober and Kim Nelson,
Neenah; 23 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ralph R. Schober,
former superintendent of Loyal Public Schools. Patricia’s family wishes to
express their gratitude to the staff of Care Partners and Heartland Hospice for
their care and support.
Memorials in her name can be made directly to any Alzheimer’s or diabetes
foundations.
