Grajek, Clemence M. “Clem” (30 JAN 1928 - 27 OCT 2014)
Clemence M. “Clem” Grajek, age 86, Abbotsford, formerly of Dorchester, passed
away on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.
Clem was born on January 30, 1928, in Lublin, the son of Walter and Lattie
(Grajkowski) Grajek. He served in the U.S. Navy from February 28, 1946, to
December 29, 1947.
On September 16, 1950, Clem was united in marriage to Rose Gronek at Saint
Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. Rose died on September 29, 1982, of lung
cancer in Athens, Greece.
Clem worked in Chicago as a carpenter from 1953 to 1975 when he returned to
Dorchester and worked at Weather Shield until his retirement in 1990. He moved
to Abbotsford in July 2002.
Clem married Lois (Mueller) Pawlak on October 24, 1987, at Holy Rosary Catholic
Church in Owen.
Clem’s hobbies include bowling, deer hunting, cooking and fishing.
Clem is survived by his wife, Lois Grajek of Abbotsford; daughter, Linda
(Marvin) Rininger of Medford; grandson, Michael Grajek of Las Vegas, Nev.; one
sister, Veronica Grajek of Chicago; stepchildren, Gail (Bob McPeak) Burbey of
Owen, Peggy (Bill) Merkes of Shakopee, Minn., and Brian (Pat) Pawlak of Glenwood
City; five step-grandchildren and six great-step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Rose; a brother and
sister in infancy; a sister, Jean; and his son, Jeffrey Grajek.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, at Saint Louis
Catholic Church in Dorchester. Father Daniel Hackel will preside. Burial will be
held in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 9 a.m.
until time of service Friday at the church.
