------ Burrow, Carolyn W. (21 JAN 1967)
Miss Carolyn W. Burrow and Patrick J. Miller were united in marriage Saturday,
January 21, at a 1:30 p.m. nuptial high mass in St. Mary’s Catholic church,
Colby. Rev. John B. Pinion officiated and St. Mary’s school choir sang,
accompanied by Sister Louise Marie, organist.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moore, Medford, and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Miller, Colby, are the
parents of the bridal couple.
The bride, given in marriage by her stepfather, appeared in a long sleeved
sheath gown of chantilly lace styled with portrait neckline and empire bodice.
Her queens coat with chapel length train, was attached at the shoulders with
taffeta bows and was detailed with lace appliques. Her bouffant veil was
attached to a lace covered pillbox headpiece re-embroidered with seed pearls and
aurora borealis crystals. She carried a cascade bouquet of white pompons and red
rose buds entwined with ivy and streamers of white lace ribbons.
The bridal attendants were attired alike in gowns of red moire taffeta fashioned
with empire waistlines, portrait necklines and watteau trains attached at the
shoulders with large bows. Each carried a white fir muff adorned with red roses.
Their red puff veils were secured to red floral headpieces. Janet Mill, a sister
of the groom, was the flower girl. Her gown was of white moire taffeta and
styled like the bridesmaids gowns. Her white puff veil was attached to a white
floral headpiece. Her cascade bouquet was of white mums and red rosebuds.
For her matron of honor, the bride chose her sister, Mrs. Francis (Bette) Kauer,
Chicago, Ill., and her bridesmaids were two classmates, Miss Joanne Kurth and
Miss Georgia Edwards, both of Milwaukee.
Glenn Weiler, Colby, was best man, and Francis Kauer, Chicago, and Robert Heir,
Medford, were groomsmen. John Miller, brother of the groom, was ring bearer.
Performing the ushering duties were Joe Burrow, brother of the bride, and Robert
Overman, Chippewa Falls, and Phillip Henline, Medford.
Altar decorations consisted of chrysanthemums at the main altar and both side
altars. At the completion of the nuptial mass, the bride placed the center
portion of her bouquet at the foot of the altar of the Blessed Virgin.
The festivities of the wedding day included a reception at the Colby city hall
and a supper at St. Mary’s hall with 125 guests in attendance.
The bride, a 1966 graduate of Medford high school, has been employed in Merrill
for the past year. Her husband, a 1964 graduate of Colby high school and a 1965
graduate of Chicago Vocational School, is employed at Bob Johnson’s Chevy town,
Wausau. The newlyweds will reside at 631 Forest Street, Wausau.
Guests attending the wedding were from Jefferson, Scranton and Ames, Ia.,
Chicago, Ill., Medford, Rib Lake, Wausau, Chippewa Falls, Milwaukee, Athens,
Stetsonville, Abbotsford, Unity and Colby.
