Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Estrumse, route 1, Abbotsford, were held Tuesday afternoon, January 24, at the First United Church of Christ, Colby. The Rev. Kenneth Dix officiated, and Mrs. Elmer Jensen, Abbotsford, was the soloist. Burial was in Colby Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers were Woodrow Schmutzler Sr., Woodrow Schmutzler Jr., Vernon Hanne, William Young, Lyle Duvall and Melvin Duvall.

Mrs. Estrumse died at 3 a.m. Saturday, January 21, at Leahy Nursing Home, Abbotsford, where she had been a patient since October, 1966. She was 70 years old.

Mrs. Estrumse was born Gertrude Kriedman September 8, 1896, in Milwaukee. She lived her early life at Milwaukee, moving later to Colby-Abbotsford area, where she spent most of her live. Prior to moving to the Leahy Nursing Home last October, Mrs. Estrumse lived with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Hanne, route 1, Abbotsford for four years. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Colby.

Surviving are two sons, Col. Elmer F. Estrumse, Ret., Marietta Ga., and Clarence R. Estrumse, Falsville, Ala.; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Virginia) Whitmore, La Mesa, Calif., and Mrs. Eldred (Mildred) Hanne, route 1, Abbotsford; nine grand children, and four great grand children; two brothers, Erick Kriedman of Wausau, and Ervin Kriedman, Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Legal and Mrs. Hertha MacDonald, Milwaukee. She was preceded in death by one son, a sister and two brothers.

All of the children were present for the funeral, and one grand daughter, Mrs. John Hill, and a great grand daughter, Michele Hill
