James Franklin Homer, 73, Unity, died Thursday, April 27, at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, about 5 p.m. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, with the Rev. R. James Hagen officiating. Burial was in the Colby Memorial cemetery.

James Homer was born January 1, 1894, at Toulon, Ill. His marriage to Viola Thompson took place September 23, 1934, at Rockford, Ill. After living for some time in Peoria, Ill., the couple moved to Westboro in 1952, and farmed there until 1957. They then farmed in the Chelsea area until 1961 when they retired and moved to a home in the town of Unity.

Survivors include Mrs. Homer, one daughter, Mrs. Jerold (Mary) Buddinger, Lindsey; two sons, Ernest of rural Medford and Arthur of South Milwaukee; seven grand children; one brother, Wayne Homer, Chicago, and one sister, Mrs. Helen Dotz, Rockford, Ill.
