Mrs. W. W. Payne, Plymouth, a former Colby resident, died unexpectedly at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at the Lutheran home for the aged, Fond du Lac. Mrs. Payne was 76 years old.

Funeral services have been scheduled for today, May 11, at 1:30 p.m. at the Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth. The Rev. T. Parry Jones, pastor of the First Methodist church, Sheboygan, will officiate, and burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in the town of Mitchel. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the funeral.

Mrs. Payne was born Minnie Hamann on August 12, 1890, in the town of Lyndon. Her marriage to Dr. W. W. Payne took place November 2, 1914 in Waldo. The couple lived at Abbotsford for two years before moving to Colby. They lived at Colby until 1961 when they moved to Plymouth. Mrs. Payne was a member of the First Methodist church of Colby, and its choir, and was a member of the Colby Garden club and the Eastern Star chapter at Colby.

Surviving are Mr. Payne and one brother, Oscar Hamann, and one sister, Mrs. Emma Nussbaumer, all of Plymouth. She was preceded in death by one brother.
