The Neillsville Historic Preservation Commission presents a 2015 calendar of
“History Lost.” The calendar features historic photos of buildings that were
important to the history of the City of Neillsville. Each month features a photo
of a building in Neillsville that is now gone, along with a history of that
property - when it was built, where it was located, what happened to it and when
it was “lost” to the community. Some buildings you may remember from your youth,
while others are long gone. The calendars will make a great gift for Christmas
or just as a keepsake of a time gone by.
The calendars will be available Nov. 1 for $10 each. They can be purchased at a
number of area businesses, including Resurrect, The Thirsty Bookworm, Rocking
Chair Antiques, AKF Martial Arts Academy, O’Neill Manor B & B and Nicolet Bank.
Quantities are limited, so be sure to pick one up today.
Julie Counsell, chair of the Preservation Commission, stated, “This is the first
of many calendars that the Commission will release each fall season.” She added,
“Next year’s calendar will feature historic pictures and histories of our local
churches.” Money raised by the sale of the calendars will be used for historic
preservation projects in the City of Neillsville.
