Miss Mary Lynn Wittkamp became the bride of David Carl Holtzhausen in nuptial
rites held Saturday, May 20, at Christ Lutheran church, Abbotsford, conducted by
the Rev. F. H. Sprengler. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wittkamp
and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Holtzhausen, all of Abbotsford.
Attending the bride were Miss Shirley Holtzhausen, Wausau, sister of the groom,
maid of honor, and Mrs. George Mueller, Abbotsford, sister of the bride,
bridesmaid. The groom’s best man was Robert Luebke, Appleton, and the groomsman
was Robert Fredrickson, Stanley.
The bride wore a pale lime green gown with an entrained sleeveless coat of white
lace and a shoulder length veil. She carried a single white orchid. The bride’s
attendants wore avocado green gowns with matching headpieces and carried small
colonial nosegays of pink roses.
The ceremony was followed by a reception and open house at Abbotsford city hall.
About 150 persons attended, coming from Marshfield, Madison, Eau Claire,
Pittsville, Chetek, Stetsonville, Wausau, La Crosse, Medford, Dorchester, Colby
Unity, Abbotsford, Osage, Ia., Minneapolis, Minn. and Charleston S. Car.
The bride has been employed as a cashier at Associated Finance, Wausau, and her
husband is a student at Wisconsin state university, Eau Claire.
