------ Bauer, Caroline (26 AUG 1894 – 02 JUN 1967)
Miss Caroline Bauer, 72, of Mishicott, a Colby resident for 25 years, died June
2 at Holy family hospital, Manitowoc, where she had been a patient for the past
four months.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 5, at St. Adalbert Catholic church,
South Milwaukee, and burial was made at St. Anthony cemetery, Loyal.
Mrs. Bauer was born Caroline Schefchik Aug. 26, 1894, at West Krok, Kewaunee
county. She was married to William Bauer June 16, 1916. They resided in Colby
until the time of Mr. Bauer’s death in 1958. She then resided in Milwaukee and
had been living with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Bergner
at Mishicott at the time of her death.
Besides Mrs. Bergner, she is survived by three other daughters, Mrs. Frank
Hollman and Mrs. Gilbert Jastrow of Milwaukee and Mrs. Erwin Merkel of Cudahy;
three sons, Dr. Frank J. Bauer of Los Angeles, Albert Bauer of Rockford, Ill.,
and William Bauer of Wisconsin Rapids; two sisters; three brothers; 33 grand
children and eight great grand children.
