Miss Roseann Mary Baures, 7023 W. Adler Road, Marshfield, and Thomas Lee Frank
were married March 15, 1975 at a 3 p.m. ceremony performed by the Rev. William
Bachman in St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Edward Baures, Route 1, Thorp, and Mr.
and Mrs. Adolph Fran, 1090 S. Severns Avenue, Marshfield. Mrs. Carol Ashbeck
played the organ.
The bride, presented in marriage by her father, chose a white evening length
bodice with V-neckline and shaped midriff, flared skirt with full length sleeves
gathered at cusp and fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of white carnations
and red roses with baby’s breath.
Miss Denise Crwydt, Marshfield, maid of honor and Miss Audrey Baures, Sheboygan
and Mrs. Clara Meier, Ogema, bridesmaids, preceded the bride down the aisle.
They donned royal blue gowns, same as the bridal gown, and carried blue-tipped
carnations with baby’s breath.
Attendants for the bridegroom were Terrence Rank, Marshfield, best man, Larry
Leja, Milwaukee and James Baures, Thorp, groomsmen. Donald Baures and Joe
Anderson shared ushering duties.
A dinner was held in the church basement followed by a dance and reception at
the sword in Colby.
The bride, a 1970 graduate of Thorp High School, and a May 22, 1973 graduate of
St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, is a registered nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital,
Marshfield. The bridegroom graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 2967
and from Mid-State Technical Institute, Wisconsin Rapids in 1969. He is a
service manager for Reek Auto Sales.
Prior to making their home on Route 3, Marshfield, the couple will honeymoon in
Florida.

Klasinski, Bernice (? – 20 Mar 1975)
Mrs. Bernice Klasinski, 480 6th Avenue, died at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 1975
at St. Michael’s Hospital, Stevens Point, where she had been a patient for the
past month.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at 10 o’clock at St. Peter’s Catholic
Church, with burial in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
The Third Order of St. Francis, of which Mrs. Klasinski was a member, said the
rosary at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Sunday. At 7:30 Sunday evening, a general
rosary was said, with Knights of Columbus participating. A son, Florian, is a
member of the KC’s.
Mrs. Klasinski was born in Eastern Poland, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Paul Harycki, and came to the United States with her parents as a child.
The family settled on a farm near Thorp.
She was married at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp, on September 21, 1918,
to Leon Klasinski.
Shortly after their marriage they went to Stevens Point and settled at the
present address. Mr. Klasinski died March 25, 1962.
Among Mrs. Klasinski’s survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Gregory (Jean) Stroik,
Plover; six sons, Anthony, a retired Air Force Colonel living in Burbank,
Illinois, Louis, Town of Hull, Frank, Janesville, Florian, Town f Hub, Edmund,
Deerfield, Illinois, and Dr. C.A., 217 Prentice Street; 29 grandchildren, and
three great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Stanley and Edward Harycki,
Thorp, and Jim, McAllen, Texas.
A daughter, Clare Byrd and two brothers preceded her in death.

Mr. and Mrs. Marion E. Herman, Thorp, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Buettner,
Manitowoc, Wisconsin wish to announce the engagement of their children, Janice
Marie Herman and Karl Buettner.
Both Janet and Karl will graduate in May from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing,
Marshfield, and will be employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield in June.
The wedding date is scheduled for August 9, 1975 at St. Bernard’s Church at
Thorp.

Capaul, Peter T. (28 Jun 1894 – 20 Mar 1975)
Peter T. Capaul, 80, Route 3, Town of Worden, Clark County, died Thursday
morning at Sacred Heart Hospital.
He was born June 28, 1894 in Chippewa Falls.
He moved to the Stanley area in 1896 with his parents, and as a young man,
worked in logging camps. He farmed in the Town of Worden with his brother,
Balzer, until 1969, when they retired.
Mr. Capaul has been a resident of Victory Memorial Nursing Home since 1971.
Survivors include two brothers, Balzer, Stanley, and David Sweet, Home, Oregon;
and one sister, Mrs. Cole Rogers, Neenah.
Services were at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley, with the
Rev. Leonard Kaiser officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Jean Broeren of Thorp has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation and a
pin for 20 years of dedicated work with the Clark County Red Cross Blood
Program.
She began her work with the Blood Program in 1964, when Thorp was host to the
first Bloodmobile visit to the county under the Red Cross sponsored County Blood
Program.
Mrs. Broeren has been Thorp Blood Program Chairman since that time. After 20
years of faithful service to her community Mrs. Jean Broeren will retired this
year, and Mrs. Joan Dougherty will take her place as Thorp Blood Program
Chairman.

Both Barb and Jeff graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Both
graduated with a double degree in elementary and secondary, and (much of the

Mary Adella “Della” McCoy Covey, 9 May 1868-31 Jul 1900 (aged 32)
Mary Adella Covey, who was injured in a runaway last week, died on Tuesday.
Seven children are left motherless. The sympathies of the whole community go out
to the bereaved husband and children.
Burial was in the East Thorp Cemetery.

Mrs. H. H. Kerbough from Adams County is visiting her sister Mrs. R.Wiley
Mrs. Cannon, mother of F. M. Craig of Eidsvold visited with Mrs. W. S. Parks on
Tuesday.
Mr. Irish, one of our old soldiers, has been very sick for some time. All who
are acquainted with him sympathize deeply with him.
Mr. H. H. Howard of this village and Miss Edith Buck of Antigo were married last
Wednesday. They will make their home here.
The Misses Hunt and Cummings of Greenwood were guests of Mrs. J. B. Bachman
during the convention. The examination of teachers for the northern part of
Clark County took place on Friday and Saturday, There were twenty three teachers
present.
Herman Friess has bought back the meat market and will from this time on see
that the people have first class beef to eat.
Saturday was a somewhat noted day in Thorp. Two very young ladies came to town
within five minutes of each other. They were utter strangers yet they acted as
if they owned the village. One of them is stopping with Mr. and Mrs. James
Connor, the other with Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Tolford.
The County S. S. Convention has come and gone. About fifty delegates answered to
their names on Tuesday morning. The addresses were excellent. The discussions
were interesting, sometimes a little fiery, but the best feeling prevailed
throughout the whole meeting. On the whole much good was done.
Mary Adella Covey, who was injured in a runaway last week, died on Tuesday.
