Langfeldt, Bonita Sue (Marriage - 2 June 1973)

Miss Bonita Sue Langfeldt became the bride of Dennis Arthur Bender in a 1:15 p.m. ceremony performed June 2 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal by the Rev. Norbert E. King. A reception, dinner and dance were held at Bali Hai supper club.

The couple’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Langfeldt of Loyal and Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Bender of Spencer, gave them in marriage.

The bride’s Victorian style satapeau gown was trimmed with venise lace and seed pearls and fashioned with an empire waistline and detachable, chapel-length train. A matching lace headpiece held a fingertip veil. White mums, red roses and stephanotis were included in her bouquet.

Miss Peg LaBarge was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Pat Firnstahl, Miss Kris Knack, and Miss Bonnie Schober, all of Loyal, and Mar Jean Schlagenhaft of Kenosha, sister of the groom. Their square-neckline, empire-waist gowns of complimentary hues were styled with short, puff sleeves and trimmed with Alencon lace. Their flowers were arrangements of multi-colored daisies and spider mums.

Serving as bestman was Steve Dahlby of Loyal. Groomsmen were Lee Smith, Steve Rogstad and Steve Langfeldt, brother of the bride, all of Loyal, and Jim Schlagenhaft of Kenosha. Tim Bender of Spencer, brother of the groom, and Jeff Langfeldt of Loyal, nephew of the bride, shared ushering duties.

Music at the wedding was provided by the Zepaltas sisters of Greenwood. A rehearsal party was held June 1 at the home of the groom’s parents.

The newlyweds are 1970 graduates of Loyal High School. The bride also graduated from Mid-state Technical Institute, Marshfield, and has been employed in that city as a medical assistant. Her husband is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The couple will live in La Crosse following their return from a wedding trip to Mackinac Island, Mi.
