Nacker, Sheila (Marriage - 26 May 1973)
Marriage vows were pledged May 26 at Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford, by Miss
Sheila Nacker and Dale Hoernke. The Rev. Kenneth Loehrke officiated at the
ceremony which joined the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nacker, Rt. 1 Colby, and the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence (Jake) Hoernke, Rt. 2 Colby.
For her wedding, the bride chose an empire-style gown of imported organza
featuring bishop sleeves and a mandarin neckline. Venise lace embellished the
A-line silhouette sweeping into a chapel train, and lace bordered the chapel
mantilla of sheer bridal illusion secured by a petal cluster. She carried a
bouquet of red roses, white carnations and lilies of the valley accented with
rose buds on white satin streamers as she was presented in marriage by her
father.
Mrs. Mark Carpenter was the matron of honor and Miss Patsy Kaser, Kenosha and
Mrs. David Hoernke were bridesmaids. Their identically-styled gowns in pastel
shade of mint, apricot and maize were complimented by matching colonial
bouquets.
Mark Carpenter served as bestman. Groomsmen were Douglas Nacker and David
Hoernke. Rick Podevels and Glen Cole acted as ushers.
A wedding reception was held at the Trianon ballroom.
The new Mrs. Hoernke is a 1972 graduate of Colby High School and has completed
her freshman year at the University of Wisconsin-Marathon campus at Wausau. Her
husband also graduated from Colby High School in 1972; he is employed at Colby
as a licensed cheesemaker. The newlyweds are living on Rt. 1 Unity.
