Meyer, Lt. Col. Mark (Prestigious Award - 2014)

Lt. Col. Mark Meyer, USAF (Retired) of Albuquerque, NM received a prestigious
performance award from the Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security
Administration (NNSA) at its recent Awards of Excellence CY2013 Recognition
Ceremony.
Lt. Col. Meyer, a Neillsville High School graduate, is the son of Lloyd C.
Meyer, Neillsville.
Lt. Col. Meyer is employed at Sandia National Laboratories. There are over
10,000 employees at the company.
His award was in recognition of outstanding performance in supporting the
nation’s nuclear security enterprise.
His job involves extensive travel. He briefed the Assistant Secretary of Defense
for Nuclear Matters at the Pentagon in Washington, D. C. last Thursday.
From there, Lt. Col. Meyer will fly to Livermore, CA to teach a weeklong class
on nuclear weapons. Then he heads back to Washington, D. C. for a program
review, and the weeks after that he will travel on assignment to Vandenberg AFB,
CA.
