Scheel, Mr. and Mrs. Louis (Golden -3 June 1973)
Friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Scheel, 3022 Gilbert St. Marinette
gathered at Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Marinette Sunday afternoon,
June 3, to join the couple in celebrating their golden wedding anniversary.
Mr. Scheel, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Scheel, is a native of the
Town of Weston, having been born at Globe, and has many relatives living in this
area. He is a brother of Mrs. Anna Beckstrom of St. Paul, Mn, who was present
for the observance, and of Mrs. Clara Korn of Seward, Ne. He is also a brother
of the late Ernest Scheel who built the Neillsville Milk Products building of
the late Mrs. Ed Gall, the late Mrs. Mary Dudei, the late Mrs. Theodore Kalsow,
the late Mrs. W. B. Thoma and the late William Scheel.
Attending the anniversary observance from the Neillsville area were Mr. and Mrs.
Hans Kalsow, Martin Kalsow and Mr. and Mrs. Herb Sternitzky.
An hour-long program held in the sanctuary of the church began with the Scheels
reviewing their wedding vows with Pastor Bill Venske. Among those taking part in
the program were a nephew and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon H. May of St. Paul,
Mn, who spoke of their happy memories of the couple. A miniature wedding
provided a finale.
A buffet supper for 150 guests followed the program. The observance was climaxed
by the opening of anniversary gifts.
