Kroll, Edward Carl (2 October 1900 - 15 June 1973)

Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for Edward Carl Kroll of Neillsville who died June 15 at the age of 72. The Rev. Norman Lindloff officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Edward Kroll, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl C. Kroll, was born October 2, 1900, in Springfield, Il., and came to Clark County at the age of 7. He attended rural and parochial schools and worked on the farm as a young man. After his marriage he farmed in the Town of York until 1962, when he had worked at the Neillsville County Club, and was in failing health for the past year and one-half. He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

His marriage to the former Lillie Schoenherr took place in 1923. She died in 1950. On August 25, 1953, he was married to the former Mabel (Schier) Tabor.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Mabel, are a daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Eileen) Buchholz of Rt. 1 Greenwood, Three sons, Ervin Kroll of Mineral Point, Wilmer Kroll of Rothschild and Merlyn Kroll of Neillsville; three step-sons, Merlin Tober of Glendale, Az., Eugene Tober of Durand, Il.; and Wilbur Tober of Rockford, Il.; a sister, Mrs. Elsa Radue of Wausau; a brother, Henry Kroll of Neillsville; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
