Pakiz, 2nd Lt. David M. (Military - 1973)
Second Lieutenant David M. Pakiz received the silver wings of an Air Force pilot
during graduation exercises at Vance Air Force Base, Okla., on May 11. On May 20
Second Lieutenant and Mrs. Pakiz and children Becky and Michael arrived here to
visit their parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pakiz and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gardner.
The serviceman left here June 3 for the Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Wa.,
for a week’s training in survival school after which he returned here. On Monday
accompanied by his wife and children they left for Homestead Air Force base in
Miami, Fla., where he will undergo several days of water survival school. From
there the Pakiz family will go to Shaw Air Force base in Sumter, S. C., where he
will take six months of upgrade school in R. F. A. C. High Speed Reconnaissance
Air Craft.
The lieutenant is a 1968 graduate of Greenwood High School, earned his B. S.
degree in mathematics in 1972 at the University of Wisconsin at Superior and was
commissioned there through the Air Force reserve officers training corps
program.
Lieutenant Pakiz’s wife, Betty, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gardner
of Rt. 3, Greenwood.
