Chas. Weiskopf and family will leave Friday for Plymouth, where they will again
make their home. They will make the trip in their car.
Aug. Teatz was in from town Lynn Tuesday on business.
Miss Marie Bruley was at Granton on Tuesday afternoon.
Miss Martha Opelt left yesterday for a visit at Sheridan and Milwaukee.
Mrs. Minnie Goldhammer is spending a short time with friends at Lynn.
Mrs. Brown and daughter, Miss Grace, are here to spend a short time.
Mrs. Carl Rabenstein left this week to visit with her daughter in South Dakota.
John Rauber of Ft. Atkinson spent a few days here at the home of Mrs. Appleyard
and family.
Herbert Brooks came home yesterday from Philadelphia where he has been working
for several months.
Mrs. Austin and Mrs. Thayer went to Minneapolis Tuesday. Mrs. Austin will spend
the summer there.
Rev. and Mrs. Stucki came from Black River Falls Tuesday to spend a few days
with Rev. and Mrs. David Grether.
William and Arthur Imig returned Tuesday from their auto trip to Rudolph,
Milwaukee, Waukesha and Ft. Atkinson.
Mrs. Laura J. Brooks is here from Tacoma, Wash., where she has spent the past
two years. She is visiting with her daughter, Mrs. H.J. Brooks.
The regular monthly meeting of the Women’s Community Club will be held with the
president, Mrs. W.L. Smith, Friday, June 14th. The usual refreshments will
be served. Come prepared to sew.
The Methodist Ladies Aid will meet on Wednesday, June 19 in the church
parlors. Come prepared to sew. Mesdames Gurgle, Ure, Buddenhagen and Newell will
be the entertaining committee.
The Red Cross Society of Merrillan is arranging for a big Red Cross benefit at
their park next Sunday, June 16th. Senator Wilcox of Eau Claire will be
present and give a patriotic address. Dinner will be served in the large dining
room at the park and a large crowd is expected. No doubt many people from here
will attend if the weather permits. Let’s show our neighborliness to the
Merrillan folks by going and assisting in the Red Cross work.
