Snyder, Estella (15 AUG 1867 – 17 Jun 1918)
Mrs. Estella Snyder died Monday evening at her home on Clay Street after an
illness of several months. She was born Estella May Selves on Aug. 15, 1867, at
Pleasant Ridge. She grew to young womanhood there and was united in marriage to
August Snyder on Sept. 28, 1887. To this union six children were born, all of
whom survive their parents, Mr. Snyder having preceded his wife in death in Feb.
1915. Mrs. Snyder was a member of the Eastern Star and Royal Neighbor lodges and
took great interest in these societies. She was a thoroughly good woman in every
respect, kind and charitable in all her actions, a splendid mother and wife and
a thoughtful neighbor. She combined so many admirable traits of character that
her long illness was a source of great sorrow to her friends, exceeded only by
the news of her death. She is survived by her mother and the following children:
Ernest, Mrs. N.J. Scherer, Mrs. T.V. Carlton, Edna, Lucille, and Charles. Also
by four brothers: Richard, William, Thomas and Ted Selves.
The funeral will be held on Thursday afternoon, services at the Congregational
Church.
