Pleasant Ridge (20 Jun 1918)
The Ladies Aid will meet with Mrs. Rosa Eisentraut next Wednesday, June
26, for supper. Everyone invited.
We were sorry to hear of the sad news of the death of Grandma Smith. The funeral
was held at the brick church on the Ridge Tuesday afternoon at one o’clock.
Mrs. Arlo Huckstead had a quilting bee Monday. All the relatives were invited
and had a fine time quilting two comforts.
Tom Wren took his family to Dells Dan Sunday for a ride.
There will be a Fourth of July basket picnic in Mr. Shafer’s grove just across
the Grant Town Hall and the ladies are to have a fish pond and everyone is
invited to bring some little thing work five or ten cents. There will be all
kinds of games and amusements. All are cordially invited to come. The proceeds
will go to the Y.M.C.A.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Swann, Mrs. Jim King and Mrs. Clemens Kuetchenmeister and Miss
Ina Huckstead returned from Crandon last week and reported a fine time fishing.
Miss Stella Selves, Doris Huckstead, Delphane Blackman and Lettie Vine were
camping a few days last week.
Mr. and Mrs. George Vine and family spent Sunday evening with Mrs. Emil Jahr.
Mr. Carter was down from Crandon and brought Lon Huckstead a Ford car.
