Michur, Eleanor Ann (11 February 1927 - 6 November 2014)
Eleanor A. Michur, age 87, of Thorp, WI, passed away on Thursday, November 6,
2014, at Oakbrook Health & Rehab in Thorp, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at
St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Rev. Janusz Kowalski will
officiate and burial will follow at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Stanley.
Visitation will be held at the church, on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until time of
service.
Eleanor Ann Valk was born in Fond du Lac, WI on February 11, 1927, a daughter of
Catherine (Heiting) and Francis Valk. When she was a young girl, her family
moved to Stanley, WI, where she was raised and received her education,
graduating from Stanley high School in 1945. Eleanor was united in marriage to
Adam Michur in 1947. She worked in Withee alongside her husband in their
business, Michur Trucking and Excavating, and later ran the parts counter for
their business Michur Implement, where she was “the best parts person in the
area.” After they divorced, Eleanor moved to Neillsville and worked for
Schwellenbach Implement, she remained in Neillsville for several years before
moving to Thorp.
She is survived by two daughters: Diane (Pat) Albrecht of Athens, WI, and Cindy
(Marvin) Mengel of Lublin,
WI; three sons: Dan Michur of Stevens Point, WI, Wayne Michur (Patty Sweet) of
Berlin, WI, and Michael Michur (Gayle Nelson) of Minneapolis, MN; 11
grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary (Terry) Stewart of
Mandan, ND; four brothers: Bob (Pat) Valk of Stanley, WI, Ed (Ione) Valk of Eau
Claire, WI, Jerry (Georgiana) Valk of Arcadia, WI, Bill (Elaine) Valk of
Zephyrhills, FL; many nieces, nephews, others relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Cathy Michur; one
brother, Donald Valk; and three sisters: Beatrice Haas, Bonnie Truse and Carol
Sopiarz.
