College Notes (12 November 2014)
Danijela Decker of Colby has been named to the Upper Iowa University (UIU)
summer 2014 dean’s list (minimum 3.50 GPA). Decker is a Health Services
Administration major at the UIU Wausau Center.
Anthony Heil of Neillsville graduated with honors from the University of
Wisconsin-La Crosse in August 2014. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in
recreation management.
The following area students received UW-Stout scholarships:
Lyddia Calmes of Colby received the Luella Kramer Endowed Scholarship. She is
majoring in apparel design and development.
Molly Schecklman of Greenwood received the Goodman Family Endowed Scholarship.
She is majoring in marketing and business education.
Brody Wogernese of Abbotsford received the Fulton and Edna Holtby Endowed
Scholarship. He is majoring in manufacturing engineering.
Hanah Woik of Colby received the Eino Maki Endowed Scholarship; 40th reunion
(classes of 1966-1970) Endowed Scholarship. She is majoring in applied
mathematics and computer science.
Katelyn Bower, a sophomore human resource management major from Owen, has been
named a resident assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for the
2014-15 academic year.
The purpose of the resident assistants is to generate a community in the
residence halls, help new students adjust to campus and create a sense of unity
among all residents. To hold the position, applicants must have a strong
academic record and complete several interviews with their peers and faculty
members.
