Neillsville Locals (5 July 1973)
Mrs. Hattie Forman and Mrs. Emma Bruss spent Sunday afternoon, June 24 at the
home of Miss Estelle Krejci and were supper guests there. In the evening, Mrs.
Elmer Georgas took the ladies for a ride to Mrs. Forman’s home farm in the Town
of York, where they found the yard filled with seven loads of baled hay which
the Lavene family had put up during the day. The Lloyd Grassman family came over
in the evening and helped the Lavene’s unload the hay and put it in the barn.
The women enjoyed seeing the bales being elevated into the mow. Many are farmers
took advantage of the good week end weather and worked through Sunday in an
effort to catch up on their spring plowing, planting and haying.
Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Howard and children, Lisa and Kevin, of Houston, TX., spent
two weeks recently with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Howard, and the Howard’s
other son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Howard and son, Todd, of
Thorp spent some vacation time there during that period as well. Guests for an
evening gathering at the Howard home also included Richard Hagedorn, Mr. and
Mrs. Carl Hoffmann, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shaw and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jake
Fitzmaurice, and Tyler Urban. The three Howard families spent several days in
Milwaukee with the Howard daughters and their families, Mr. and Mrs. John Mazola
and children and Mr. and Mrs. Al Neumann and son, and the DeWayne Howards left
from there to return to Texas.
