Roels, Edna (9 May 1900 - 25 June 1973)
Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Russell Roels, 73, retired Neillsville hardware
and furniture store operator who died June 25 at her home, were held Thursday
afternoon from the United Church of Christ. The Rev. Gary Clark officiated and
burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Carmi Chapter No. 60, Order if
the Eastern Star, conducted services Wednesday evening at the Georgas Funeral
Home, where the body of Mrs. Roels was in state.
Pallbearers were Russell Besler, Bradley Roberts, Mark Schultz, Bruce Rakestraw,
Dan Patey and Lawrence Struble. “God Understands” and “An Evening Prayer” were
sung by Mrs. Robert Peters. Mrs. James Spangler was the accompanist.
Those from out-of-town who attended the services included: Mr. and Mrs. William
Besler, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Besler, Billy Besler, Vickie Besler and Mr. and
Mrs. D. W. Besler, Woodruff; Mrs. Elsie Grinde, Caryl Grinde and Mr. and Mrs.
Julian Sund, Madison; Mrs. Cora Besler, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Herbert, Grand Ledge, Mi.; Mrs. Al Covell, New York Mills, N. Y.; Mr. and Mrs.
Warren Van Kirk and family, Humbird.
