Goessl, Jean E. (4 DEC 1927 – 17 NOV 2014)

Jean E. Goessl, age 86, Abbotsford formerly of Dorchester passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Country Terrace in Abbotsford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Saint Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. Father Daniel Hackel will officiate. Burial will be held in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester, with a rosary service at 4:00 pm and from 10:00 am until time of services Friday at the church.

Jean was born on December 4, 1927 in Clark County, WI, the daughter of Eino and Elsie (Williams) Walkama. She was a 1945 graduate of Owen High School.

On June 12, 1945, Jean was united in marriage to Herbert Goessl at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. The couple then took over the family farm in the Town of Hoard and Jean also worked at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen as a nursing assistant for over 30 years, they moved to the Village of Curtiss in July 1981 and after the death of her husband in 1983, Jean moved to the Village of Dorchester. Jean was a resident of Country Terrace in Abbotsford since September 2013.

Jean enjoyed square dancing in her younger years and she also enjoyed gambling, fishing, gardening and spending time at the farm pond, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her children; Richard (JoAnne) Goessl of Withee, William (Debra) Goessl of Xenia, OH, Daniel (Tamra) Goessl of Curtiss and Catherine (Terry) Arndt of Withee, daughter-in-law; Tammy Goessl of Yuba City, CA, 14 grandchildren and 22 3/4 great-grandchildren. Jean is further survived by her sister; Geraldine (Howard) Frane of Colby.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Herbert Goessl on April 30, 1983, sons; James and Bruce Goessl, grandson; John Goessl, great-granddaughter; Olivia Goessl and a sister; Mary Miller.
