Foemmel, Gilbert D. (22 APR 1932 – 14 NOV 2014)
Gilbert D. Foemmel, age 82, passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at the House
Of The Dove in Marshfield, with his family by his side. Memorial services will
be held 1:00 PM Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home
(1010 E. Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield. Visitation will be held at the funeral
home from 12:00 Noon until the time of service on Thursday.
Gilbert was born on April 22, 1932, the son of Walter Sr. and Viola (Dahl)
Foemmel in Chili, Wisconsin. After graduating from High School Gilbert went on
to serve his country in the U.S. Army. He later returned to central Wisconsin
and took a job at Wisconsin Homes.
In his spare time he enjoyed farm work, logging, wood working, "junking" and
antiquing. He also enjoyed old cars and the steam engine shows. Those that knew
him best will miss his warm spirit and his love of being in the woods.
Gilbert is lovingly survived by his children: Debbie (Jeff) Jurgensen, Jack
Foemmel, and Scott (Jane Johnson) Foemmel. He is further survived by his
grandchildren, Jamie, Tanya (Eric), Tasha (Geoff), Ryan, Jasmin (Ben), Corey,
Lacey (Eric) Jessica, and Misty; as well as 12 great grandchildren; and his
sister: Mildred. He will truly be missed.
Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents: Walter Sr. and Viola; a
daughter-in-law: Gail Foemmel; as a siblings: Irene and Walter Jr.
