Hardrath, Halbert Herbert “Bud” (7 JUN 1924 - 9 NOV 2014)
Halbert Herbert (Bud) Hardrath, age 90, of Roswell, Ga., died on Sunday, Nov. 9,
2014, at his home following a brief illness.
Bud was born on June 7, 1924, on the family farm in Green Grove Township, Clark
County, son of Herman and Elsa (Lange) Hardrath.
He was a graduate of Colby High School, received a bachelor’s degree from
UW-Stevens Point, and a master’s degree from UW-Madison. On May 5, 1950, he
married Marjorie Ruth Reitan in Madison. He worked as a high school science
teacher until he relocated his family to Atlanta, Ga., where he retired as a
home builder.
Survivors include his brother, Howard, Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law,
Sue Hardrath and Sam Troutman, Atlanta, Ga.; son-in-law, Wayne Kramer,
Knoxville, Tenn.; two grandsons, Russell Reitan Kramer, Cleveland, Ohio, and
John Reed Kramer, Clemson, S.C.; one sister-in-law, Dorthaleen Edwards Hardrath,
Owen; and several nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brothers, Harvey and
Harold; a sister, Edythe (Gilbert) Wiedenhoeft; and a daughter, Sarah Jane
Hardrath Kramer.
A family graveside service will be planned for a later date at Beaver Cemetery,
Beaver Township.
